Therese Glimskär Clothes Stand, 2009 A clothes storage product constructed to provide a functional solution for the different situation of storing clothes.
The product is developed from looking at how we live and behave in relation to where we keep our clothes, from clean, to semi-used, and finally to dirty.
This is a clothes stand that provides hanging space for semi-used clothes and laundry bags. It can be used both for lazy hanging and organised hanging. The clothes stand can also be used as a drying rack when all the laundry is washed. So the object is never passive.
Induction Iron, 2009 The project was initiated in collaboration with BASF to investigate the opportunity for new application areas or products for their plastic material Ultradur. Since Ultradur is a heat resistant material I wanted to make a product that communicates that asset. My goal was to produce a minimalist iron that communicates simplicity in the way that it has been stripped down to the essentials. The iron is cordless and works with induction heating. Induction heating uses an electromagnetic field to transform the energy directly, and purely heats the surface of the product that touches the fabric.
